Medical Industry Water Treatment Equipment
Core Technologies and Equipment
The medical industry must meet the standards for purified water (resistivity ≥ 0.5MΩ・cm, microorganisms ≤ 100CFU/mL) and water for injection (WFI) (endotoxin ≤ 0.25EU/mL). The key equipment is as follows:
Multi-effect Distiller and Mechanical Vapor Recompression (MVR)
- Multi-effect Distiller: Through multi-stage evaporation and condensation, it removes pyrogens and ions, and the produced water meets the requirements for water for injection. For example, it is made of 316L stainless steel with electropolished inner walls to prevent microbial growth.
- Mechanical Vapor Recompression (MVR): It recovers the heat energy of secondary steam, reducing energy consumption by 30%-80%, and is suitable for large-scale pharmaceutical enterprises.
Reverse Osmosis (RO) + EDI Process
Two-stage RO removes over 99% of ions, and EDI achieves deep desalination, with the produced water having a resistivity ≥ 1MΩ・cm. This process is used in central pure water systems in hospitals. Medical water equipment integrates pretreatment, RO, and post-treatment to meet the demands for water supply of different qualities in various departments.
Ultrafiltration and Membrane Filtration
It traps bacteria and pyrogens, replacing traditional distillation methods.
Ultraviolet (UV) and Pasteurization
254nm UV sterilization combined with 80℃ pasteurization ensures no biofilm forms in pipelines.
